This is show number 21.1, titled "I hope you like cartoons."
I know I do. Cartoons are one of the greatest art forms of the 20th century. They're often universal, and precious snapshots of human history. They inspire laughter, nostalgia, and are timeless.
Did you know that all of the most famous cartoons were made over 60 years ago? Cartoons made their greatest leaps during The Great Depression. Hardly anything since then has been a major technical breakthrough.
People have the misconception that cartoons from the golden age of hollywood are for children, but this is only because those cartoons are old enough to have been seen by today's adults as children. The truth is, the best cartoons were made without children in mind, and are as good today as they were when they were first made.
But this isn't just about the golden age of Hollywood. Cartoons continued to be made well after the studio system collapsed. TV ushered in a new era for cartoons. Computers ushered in 3D animation. Video games made animation interactive.
Ultimately, if there's anyone out there that isn't a fan of cartoons, I have to ask, what's wrong with you?
