Are things going well here on planet earth? Do we have a future here? Is there a chance we won't? If so, what can we do about it? What will we do if some asteroid collides with the earth? If global warming triggers a runaway greenhouse effect? Or even if some malevolent aliens come to wage war against us? What will happen to the human race?
But fear not. We can dream. And it is because of humanity's ability to have hopes and dreams that we will never be destroyed. Life finds a way. As will we. This is show number 27.1, the first of a series of science fiction themed shows, titled "Think about the future."
We started off with the 20th Century Fox Fanfare by the Ukulele Cafe Quartet, followed by "The Evil Gigas Attacks!" by Kay ichi Suzuki and "Star Date" by Alexander Courage. This is "The Axiom" by Thomas Newman. And now, to help explain why I'm doing this, a few words by Gene Roddenberry.

We've been, caught up in some sort of, temporal vortex. Sensors showed a temporal signature, with, high concentrations of tachyons and chronometric particles. So far, we haven't managed to, pinpoint our exact location. But, we, expect we've moved, forward through time.
We, did notice, as we passed through the temporal wake that, we heard, music, and, musings by the following artists.
"Stone In Focus" by Aphex Twin.
"Edmonton Storms" by Dominic Owen.
Comments on the space program by George Carlin and David Cross.
Excerpts from the NASA episode of Penn & Teller's Bulls, Hit.
"It Only Takes A Moment" by Michael Crawford.
"Han Solo And The Princess" by Hah gee may knee kiyoshi and the London Symphony Orchestra.
And finally "Temporal Wake" by Jerry Goldsmith.
I'm sure we will need to explore this concept of 'time travel' in the future, but, until we do, I suggest we move on. Our exact location has now been pinpointed. We are in the same place we were before, but "Five, Millennia, Later" (by Eric Serra).
